First week of shows
« on: December 19, 2009, 04:14:28 AM »
Well, lets get the discussion started here.

I'm watching the first week of shows so far. Will post up what I think of them when I'm done. What do you guys think about them?

Done watching them, and I thought they were pretty good, but had some problems.

WaW - Tiffany and Lance are back! w00t!. Strom vs. Hertz was an uneven match, and there was no commentary to spice it up, so that was disappointing. Throughout the commentary had size issues, so that ruined it a bit, but otherwise it was fine. I like the London Black RPs a lot, and the stuff with Snap/Lance was good. In general, all the RPs are good, but the one where Aldebaran interrupts the end of the match didn't make much sense to me. How did he have so much time to just make that speech, before interrupting the match? Did Menacor and the Ref just sit by and watch? It's strange he just walked out with a mic, made a whole speech, and then interrupted and the match wasn't ended by DQ or anything. Also, his speech was that of a face, but then he attacked Rhiannon?
Also the Crimson/Pheonix match was referred to as the fist inter-gender match of the night, but it actually was the second after the Rhiannon/Menacor directly before it.
The Lou Albano commentary was just weird, didn't feel right. Couldn't you just have mentioned the kid as a big fan or something?
Also, I didn't fully get the last RP, but I'm interested about this whole JT taking over the show thing.
Overall, pretty decent show. Good RPs everywhere, but formatting problems with the commentary and the small size of the text for the RPs pulled it down a bit. Interested in the next show, even though the stuff with Rick and Mike confuses me. Plus, who was that wrestler in the RP with London Black and Mr. Killmore?

I'll post up my thoughts on TBG and BTWE in a bit.

TBG - I didn't like the starting segment. Why take digs at OTHER GAME? There is no need, the whole thing was so childish. Ruined the start.
Keith's font colour in the What Does TBG mean to you RP was difficult to see, as was the one Niv used in his RP. I also didn't quite understand the point of the 'What does TBG mean' RP, I thought that the hype was already done with the mass-PM thing TBG sent out. This didn't have the same kick as that did either.
The commentary was bland. Not entertaining at all.
Font problems affected TBG too, all over the place.
I felt Niv's match was too close to his RP, but meh.
Too many dark, tormented heels. Keith, Niv, Cody, Chris. It's a good gimmick when done well, but having 4 of them in the same fed really kills it. Where are the faces? Only Scorpy and Clayton seemed to be good guys.
I found the Jack Jones abortion RP hilarious in the way it was done. Very nice.
The Dream sister's seem to be interesting to follow.
Very good RPing quality throughout the show.
No photos for some people at the start of the match made the show presentation look poor and not synchronised.

Overall, I liked the show a lot for the RPing, but the commentary was terrible, there were way too many dark heels and not a diverse looking roster, and formatting issues plagued it. Pulled the show down a lot.

Would be nice to see input from some other players in here, constructive criticism is always a good thing for GM's and there's some good points here, I agree with some and disagree with others, I also have my feeling on the shows so far but I always offer those freely to the GM's and wont risk calls of bias in any direction by posting them here, that said for out first ever shows I was very happy, a few bugs and issues were going to turn up, hopefully moving forwards these issues will be noted and wont re-occur and future shows will raise the bar.
